D.O.T.S.

via: http://fashiongonerogue.com/
I never use to be a huge fan of polka dots mainly because they were so bold, but lately I keep finding myself trying to incorporate them into my outfit. When wearing a strong print, you can keep the rest of your outfit simple and it will balance out the look. My favorites so far are high-waisted shorts with a simple crop top and a LBD with fun polk dot tights.

"Indie Spirit"

Kathryn and I have been obsessing over the newly launched Pendleton line, The Portland Collection. Pendleton Woolen Mills is one of the most authentic and oldest Pacific Northwest Companies. The collaboration comes from the president of Pendleton, Mort Bishop, and three Portland native designers. TPC depicts a strong sense of Indie fashion combined with the age old esthetic of Pendleton. It is so amazing, we both could not be more excited to own one of these amazing pieces. To check out the full look book go to The Portland Collection blog, http://portlandcollection.net/

Treasure Hunting

Top & Pants: H&M, Ring: Belle Noel, Necklace: Vintage

Down Town San Pedro
Antique shopping has become a new hobby of mine and I almost always find something I fall in love with every time. As I was reading the newspaper with Cedar (yes, I still read the newspaper) I saw a small article about down town San Pedro. I decided I would go and check out one of my favorite Antique shops, Best of Times. Today I was looking for a vintage lamp to go along with a lamp shade I purchased at Anthropologie.  To me, this shop has it all; china sets, gorgeous table cloths, jewelry, clothes, books, old records, instruments, paintings and furniture pieces. I could spend hours in this store, but I only had an hour and a half on my car meter. I found a few lamp options that might work, but I want to come back and see if I find just the right treasure!

Best of the Night

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen in New York

Alexa Chung at Stella McCartney
Alessandra Ambrosio at Victoria's Secret in SoHo
Sarah Jessica Parker in New York

Rachel Bilson in LA
Rachel Zoe at Bloomingdales in LA

Anja Rubik, Isabeli Fontana & Natasha Poly with Vogue Paris Editor-in-Chief Emmanuelle Alt in Paris

(via Vouge.com, Fashionista.com, fashiongonerogue)

I admit, I did not make it out to FNO last night due to lack of energy from a long week of work. But, I did enjoy reading all about the exciting night and spotting some of my favorite looks. I must say that best dressed hands down are the European beauties. Anja Rubik is insanely gorgeous, almost a crime. In LA Rachel Zoe is rocking her staple suit look, while Rachel Bilson looks adorable as ever in her nude color maxi skirt. Across country in NY, Sarah Jessica looks like she just stepped off set of Sex and the City looking so polished, and Alessandra is breath-taking at Victoria's Secret in SoHo. Then ofcourse the power house twins Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen were out in New York and Alexa is having some fun DJing in her adorable bow dress. Overall, thoroughly impressed, and happy I got to relive FNO!

Off Beat Polish

Just flipping through some magazines still up watching tv when I realized I was meaning to paint my nails all night. I just bought two new colors of nail polish and couldn't decided which one to use...so I used both! I used "big spender" and "marshmallow" both by essie. Here is a fun twist to painting your nails and giving you a nice polished look...no pun intended. :)

A new way to do classic

Twenty8Twelve has created the perfect collection this fall, and no, I'm not just saying that because I'm a forever fan of Sienna Millers signature mix of boho, meets London off kilter street.  This is the first season that they have completely produced and designed in England and I would wear every single item.    It just shows that classic silhouettes in a neutral palette can have an edge and interesting quality that will last long after this season.

Dreaming of New York...

New York Fashion week is almost here and I am sad to say the only part I will be involved in is booking flights and hotels for the Buyers. Being one of the Buying Assistants at Revolve Clothing I can't help but be jealous of all the amazing shows they will be attending. It would be a young twenty something girl's dream to see collections by Anna Sui, Michael Kors, Rebecca Minkoff, and Nanette Lepore to name a few. Just from browsing through Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week's website, there is so much that goes into each and every show it is almost hard to fathom. Each designer shows their sheer genius in a perfectly executed collection. Then they showcase their masterpiece for the entire world to enjoy, love and appreciate. It is just a wonderful concept if you ask me :) It is my hope and dream to be able to be Carrie Bradshaw for a day and sit in front row at New York fashion week with my close girlfriends...until then I will just be dreaming of New York...
